Role
Visual Designer
Career Connect is a job search platform designed to support unemployed residents in Stanislaus County by helping users build profiles, find local jobs, track applications, and access resources. As part of the design team, I created the logo, developed the visual identity, and contributed to the platform’s design and content for a clear, consistent user experience.
01.
Research
This section highlights our early research into high unemployment in Stanislaus County and how limited resources impacted job seekers. Surveys and user personas revealed frustrations like poor job listings and confusing platforms. A competitive analysis of LinkedIn and Indeed helped us identify user expectations and gaps. The visuals show our research, personas, and key insights that shaped our direction.
02.
Design
Here, we mapped key user actions—signing up, searching, and applying—to visualize the platform experience. This section features early user flows and lo-fi wireframes tested for clarity, followed by hi-fi mockups shaped by user feedback on layout, navigation, and UI elements like forms, filters, and buttons.
03.
Brand
This section highlights the visual identity designed to reflect growth, connection, and direction. The logo—featuring interconnected gears—represents key steps in the job search journey. We chose colors symbolizing energy (orange), trust (blue), and growth (green), and defined typography and spacing for consistency. The visuals show logo drafts, final versions, icons, color palette, and type hierarchy.
